Alpine climbing - Piz Badile - Cassin (800hm, 25SL, 6a obl.)

Karsten Lafrenz and I had not seen each other since the end of January. Without joint preparation tour to enter the #cassin (6a obl., 800hm) east north east wall of the #pizbadile ๐Ÿ” made me skeptical. Because after the first pitches in the sixth degree of difficulty, in which you always cross out into the central part of this huge wall of granite, the point of no return is quickly reached. Until the summit, the route has more than 25 pitches, and they have it in them, since, except for two cross passages, the fifth and sixth degree of difficulty are rarely fallen short of, and the pitches are very long. To have finally led the Cassin feels to me like a grace from God ๐Ÿ™‰๐Ÿ™โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿคฃ. I thank Karsten Lafrenz for his motivation, and his strength to climb this steep rock solidly, safely and confidently. Thus, at the sharp end of the rope, I had the strength to fully pull through over 8 hours on the wall, perfectly belaying every single pitch and finding the route on the first try in the lead.

We lead this extraordinary tour on request.
