They run in the middle of the team, where they can be guided by the lead dogs and steered by the veterans. Nowhere is this more important than on the mountain trail - no flat stretch of road - it's over sticks 🌲 u 🪨 stone, narrow switchbacks and ravines with water and boulders.
They are not yet allowed to join every training session, but when they are allowed to, it is up to the musher to steer the still inexperienced youngsters safely through the terrain so that no husky gets hurt even in narrow and exposed passages. This is hard work and the only way to build up mutual trust until the winter so that we can all pow down the mountain together as a pack ❄️🐾⛷♥️ and stay together.
