Ice climbing training beginners Lechtal Tirol

Early in winter we start the ice climbing season.

The shadows hang low in December and January. The ice grows down the cold rock by the ton. We have very little snow, so the avalanche danger is usually low. Ideal conditions to be the first in the ice. In addition, the learned skills can be ideally applied in the still coming cold winter months.

Training content

• Tour planning and avalanche awareness
• Theoretical and practical basics on waterfall ice
• Introduction and improvement of climbing technique
• Climbing in the Toprope
• Stand construction
• Belaying the second and first climbers from the fixed point
• Lead climbing training

Optional incl. 3 nights+breakfast+packed lunch at Basecamp Gramais

Arrival and check-in on the evening before the first day of training
Overnight stay per person per night € 50,00
Breakfast+packed lunch per day € 15,00 (includes packed lunch for the climbing day)
The Basecamp Gramais is less than 5 minutes walk from our three practice ice climbing walls.
Two other areas we reach within about 40min (flat approach with snowshoes).
Another 2 areas are in the alpine terrain and can be reached within about 80min from basecamp. Here we use our Siberian Huskies as support during the ascent.
