This one-day avalanche camp is particularly suitable for beginners in the off-piste area (ski touring, freeriding) and enables you to get a quick overview and build up an understanding and awareness of the processes that are crucial for avalanche formation.

In just 1.5 days, you will learn a large part of what there is to know about avalanche formation and dangers for winter sports enthusiasts at the Lechtal Mountain School avalanche camp. In particular, the instructors make every effort to highlight the versatility of tour planning as a key element in minimizing risks. Here in particular, we will look at some of the indispensable information and planning portals in the respective countries. We work on the theoretical structure together the evening before the camp. Our mountain guides convey this in the form of a presentation. The next day we go on tour and combine this knowledge with our perception of the high mountains in winter. Depending on the snow conditions, we choose a suitable area and the optimal tour depending on the conditions and the abilities of the participants. The practical unit takes place the following day (09:00-16:00) and is carried out as a ski tour and then in the form of practical exercises as part of a station operation.
