With Bergschule Lechtal, we’ve chosen a path where work, value creation, and outcomes take place at our newly established base in Gramais and in the Lechtal Alps region. This base includes not only storage areas, equipment for training courses, office, accommodation, and catering for guests, but above all the development of new routes for ski touring, freeriding, ice climbing, mountaineering, alpine climbing, and especially sport climbing.

A 5-minute walk from Basecamp Gramais brings us to the foot of the Mühlschrofen, which is consistently vertical to heavily overhanging with excellent rock quality.

The climbing is consistently athletic due to the steepness and good rock structure. You will find moves that are heavily overhanging,
yet do not exceed UIAA grade 8. Additionally, there are chimney routes and very steep wall climbing on the north-facing section, which is up to 100m high. Overall, the routes are quite long (up to 40m) and endurance-based. We are also setting up multi-pitch sport climbing routes in the high wall section.

Additionally, we have developed a small but fine crag at the Haschrofe (route length up to 20m), where we
can ideally work on climbing techniques with our guests.

We reach the Haschrofe from Basecamp Gramais in about 30 min. Once at the top, the mountain panorama
and the view down to Gramais definitely make up for the effort of the ascent.

The climbing garden next to our base is part of Bergschule Lechtal. The municipality of Gramais, as the owner, ensures that in the wildlife-protected area of the Hirschhalskopf—which extends behind the crag towards the Roßkar group—there is no uncoordinated development or unresolved liability issues.

Every route and line is studied, discussed, and climbed in advance based on the rock structures before the bolts are placed where they belong.
