Secret Garden Yoga

In the Yoga’n Climb sector, we have been working with Hannah Brown (Secret Garden Yoga) for 3 years. She has been running her yoga school in Gramais since 2019.

This creates the perfect setting for our Yoga’n Climb seminars.

Program | Content

Day 1

ARRIVAL

Yoga Focus:

  • What does Hatha Yoga mean >> Sun – Moon, Yin – Yang
  • The energy concept >> Ida and Pingala, Awarohan and Arohan, sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems, left and right brain hemispheres
  • PRANA – the importance of breathing

Climbing Focus:

  • Equipment, standard movement, how “focus” is created when climbing, belaying techniques, breathing
Day 2

DIVE INTO THE WORLD OF YOGA AND CLIMBING

Yoga Focus:

  • Energy (“The Energy Body” and Pancha Koshas, the three Gunas, nutrition)

Climbing Focus:

  • Moving beyond standard climbing movements, building breathing and core tension, becoming flexible (esp. hips), distributing load, finding balance, long arm, frontal and twisted climbing
Day 3

EXPERIENCING AND PUSHING YOUR OWN LIMITS

Yoga Focus:

  • Chakras and Nadis
  • Pancha Bhuta (5 elements, Pranic Body, Pancha Pranas/Vayus)

Climbing Focus:

  • Climbing at your limit (top rope and lead climbing), pushing your own boundaries

Optionally including 3x overnight stay+breakfast+lunch packet at Basecamp Gramais

Basecamp Gramais is a 5-minute walk from the Bergschule climbing area.

Included in the price is an extended morning hike with our Siberian Huskies.

Requirements

– Healthy in the mountains
– First climbing meters on rock already completed
– Safe belaying with standard belay devices in the climbing garden (e.g. GriGri)
– Alpine Club membership

Yoga mats
Backpack for transporting ropes, quickdraws, clothing, and food

Approach shoes with treaded soles

Climbing shoes

Climbing harness

Climbing helmet

Down or Primaloft jacket (weather dependent)

Beanie or headband (weather dependent)

Sufficient food and drink
Sunscreen and lip protection


We'll coordinate with participants in advance regarding bringing and renting:
• Single rope (length at least 50m)
• Quickdraws
• Belay device
• and matching belay carabiner (HMS, ideally Safelock)

For provisions on the mountain, you should bring food that you enjoy even during exertion! E.g.: dates, chocolate, cheese, nuts, fruit, vegetables, etc.

Rental equipment

We provide yoga mats, helmets, belay devices, carabiners, climbing harnesses, and ropes if needed.
Please use your own equipment if available.
