Ice climbing training beginners Lechtal Tirol

We start the ice climbing season early in winter.

The shadows hang low in December and January. The ice grows down the cold rock by the ton. We have very little snow, so the risk of avalanches is usually low. Ideal conditions to be the first on the ice. What’s more, this is the ideal way to apply the skills you have learned in the cold winter months ahead.

Training content

• Tour planning and avalanche awareness
• Theoretical and practical basics of waterfall ice
• Introduction and improvement of climbing technique
• Top rope climbing
• Stand construction
• Belaying second climbers and first climbers from the fixed point
• Lead climbing training

Optionally incl. 3xovernight stay+breakfast+packed lunch at Basecamp Gramais

• Arrival and check-in on the evening before the first day of training
• Overnight stay per person per night € 52,00
• Breakfast + packed lunch per day € 20.00 (includes packed lunch for the climbing day)

The Basecamp Gramais is less than a 5-minute walk from our three practice ice climbing walls. Two other areas can be reached within approx. 40 minutes (flat approach with snowshoes).
Another 2 areas are located in alpine terrain and can be reached within approx. 80 minutes from the base camp. Here we use our Siberian huskies for support on the approach.
