Description
Ice Climbing Training for Beginners Lechtal Tyrol
We kick off the ice climbing season early in winter.
Shadows hang deep in December and January. Tons of ice grow downwards on the cold rock. We have very little snow, so the avalanche risk is usually low. Ideal conditions to be the first on the ice. Plus, the skills you learn can be perfectly applied throughout the coming cold winter months.
Training Content
- Route planning and avalanche knowledge
- Theoretical and practical basics of waterfall ice
- Introduction to and improvement of climbing technique
- Top-rope climbing
- Belay station construction
- Belaying second and leader from fixed point
- Lead climbing training
Optionally incl. 3x overnight stay+breakfast+lunch pack at Basecamp Gramais
- Arrival and check-in the evening before the first course day
- Accommodation per person per night € 59.00
- Breakfast+lunch pack per day € 22.00 (includes lunch pack for the climbing day)
- incl. tourist tax (€ 2.60 per person per night)
The Basecamp Gramais is less than a 5-minute walk from our three practice ice climbing walls.
We can reach two more areas within approx. 40 min (flat approach with snowshoes).
Another 2 areas are located in alpine terrain and can be reached from the basecamp within approx. 80 min. Here, we use our Siberian Huskies for support during the approach.
